How do you assist others to find their voices?
Our society especially young people need role models which will assist them to find their voice instead of accusations, instructions or command. Technology is drawing the world closer to each other so fast that if we are using the industrial age (the mind of command and comply) kind of mentality we will not be able to understand our young people to an extend we expose them to crime, drug and alcohol abuse, lack of educational interest, prostitution and being disrespectful.
Paseka Matthews who worked with us and is an intern at the mines in Krugersdorp shares and inspires us to find our voices through his journey and the challenges he experienced through his life until he attained his journalism diploma. “I told myself when I worked for Shoprite and Mr Price that this is not what I want to spend the rest of my life, I need to get an education which is consistent with my potential and serve the world” said Paseka. We appreciate the role Paseka’s father played in moulding this young man to find his voice. The absence of fathers in the life of young men and women makes it difficult for them to find their voice but not Paseka’s Father he even taught him at a young age to love books.
We also profile the tribute concert which is organised by Drakensburg promotions at the Moretele Park in Mamelodi. The jazz lovers were mesmerised by Lira, Don Laka, Johnny Clerk, Mafikizolo and Zonke to name a few. Sammy fever kept the revelers laughing to his humorous jokes when waiting for artists to perform.
Melo brings out a different sound to our music. This lady from Mafikeng who learned classical piano lessons at Mmabana Foundation was introduced to music at a tender age of 6. She ones performed along side established artists like KB, HHP and Tuks Senganga. Melo terms her music Motswako Soul which is a combination of Setswana and English lyrical poetry on a soulful-jazzy melody. She mostly talk about love in all its different forms her single Thato was released in January 2014 cannot wait for her full album.

Thabo Comfort Mosime is from Rustenburg (Bapong) in North West. Thabo wanted to study fashion designing as fashion is close to his heart. He watches fashion week and read style magazines. He admirers Scott Disick and his dream is to be an ambassador for an international brand and fashion Icon. Thabo works at Vigano a men’s boutique owned by Zweli and Jackie Mathibe.
We dance to the hip hop music brought by Thibe Da Kid the young men is influencing through misic. He performed at Newtown and Burgerspark recently. We are expecting him to drop the album very soon.
