Melo, real name Tumelo Tshetlo, is a pianist, singer and songwriter.
Born in Mafikeng in the late 80’s, Melo was introduced to music at the tender age of six years where she took classical piano lessons at the Mmabana Foundation in Mafikeng.
Melo was part of Xpressions, a popular music performance show in Mafikeng. She began composing music and exploring different genres of music, which helped define her sound that would take her forward in the music industry.
Melo then set on a quest to promote her music as an entertainer at weddings and corporate events. She went on to become the weekly resident act at the then Tusk Mmabatho, proving her determination to continuously perform.
Melo was invited to perform her soulful sounds at one of MOVE! Magazine’s functions. Then again by the North West Parks and Tourism on numerous occasions alongside KB, HHP and Tuks. People were now taking notice of Melo’s music.

Melo’s music is what she terms Motswako Soul – a combination of Setswana and English lyrical poetry on a soulful-jazzy melody.
Melo’s songs mostly talk about love in all it’s different forms. Most can’t help but be moved by it, coupled with her singing that speaks volumes from her soul.
Performing with a 5 piece band, Melo’s shows are guaranteed to move audiences and touch the core of people’s hearts.

Melo released her first single – Thato in January 2014.
Thato is a glamorous township love story that speaks of how true love often overcomes many obstacles. With Thato’s fun lyrical content and melodic sounds, people have already shown massive love for the song and it is fast gaining popularity on the airwaves.
Melo is now taking the leap forward as a solo artist and plans on releasing more singles in the year 2014 before finally releasing her debut album.
